Cara Cara Navel Orange – Beautifully Bold, Sweetly Unexpected

The Cara Cara Navel Orange Tree is a showstopper in both flavor and color — producing sweet, nearly seedless oranges with striking pink-red flesh hidden beneath a classic orange peel. This is citrus with a twist, delivering a low-acid, smooth flavor that’s more refined than your typical navel.

What Makes Cara Cara a Standout?

  • Flesh: Naturally pink to deep rose, colored by lycopene-rich carotenoids

  • Flavor: Sweet, balanced, and mild — less acidic than traditional navels

  • Fruit: Easy to peel, low pith, clean sections — ideal for snacking and juicing

  • Origins: A natural mutation of Washington Navel, discovered in Venezuela in 1976

  • Harvest Season: Early to midseason — usually December through February

  • Tree Size: Grows up to 15–20 feet, with a full, rounded canopy

  • Self-Fertile: No pollinator required for fruit production

Why Grow It?

The Cara Cara Navel combines eye-catching aesthetics with exceptional eating quality. Whether you’re planting an edible landscape or a small citrus grove, this tree brings vibrant color, reliable production, and a sweet surprise inside every fruit.

Plant one and enjoy the burst of citrus sunshine it brings to your yard — because once you try Cara Cara, regular oranges just won’t compare.

Winter Shipping Advisory
Cold Weather Alert: Tropical trees are highly sensitive to cold temperatures. During colder months, our greenhouses maintain warm, optimal conditions for growth, which makes plants more vulnerable to cold damage during shipping.
Recommendations: If temperatures along the shipping route are below 40°F, we recommend holding your order until it’s safe to ship. We will notify you if a delay is necessary.
No Freeze Warranty: We do not guarantee plants shipped during freezing conditions. Shipping in cold weather is at the buyer’s discretion and risk.
Shipping Schedule
Local (In-State) Shipments: Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend. Most locations within the state receive deliveries in 1 to 2 days.
Out-of-State Shipments: Orders ship primarily on Monday and Tuesday to avoid weekend delays.
