Welcome to the world of Cinnamomun Zeylanicum, a treasure from the heart of Sri Lanka. This evergreen marvel, more commonly known as the Cinnamon tree, is a testament to nature’s bounty. With a stature reaching up to 12 feet in height and a spread of 15 feet, it’s a sight to behold. The Cinnamon tree is not just about aesthetics. It’s a sensory delight, with dark, glossy leaves that release a captivating aroma when touched.
The real magic of the Cinnamon tree lies in its bark. Harvested from the tree’s slender, vigorous shoots, the bark is the source of the world-renowned cinnamon spice. This spice is a culinary superstar, lending its warm, sweet flavor to a myriad of dishes. But that’s not all. The leaves of the Cinnamon tree are a hidden gem, making a fragrant and soothing tea.
Beyond the kitchen, cinnamon finds its way into a range of products. From the sweet allure of candies and gums to the refreshing zing of toothpaste and the soothing scent of incense and perfumes, cinnamon is everywhere. The oil extracted from cinnamon is a powerhouse of benefits. It’s used in medicine for its carminative, antiseptic, and astringent properties. It’s also the source of cinnamon extract, a potent ingredient in various health supplements.
The Cinnamon tree is a hardy plant, capable of withstanding temperatures as low as 30 – 32 F. It’s a low-maintenance addition to your garden, requiring pruning just twice a year. Bring home a Cinnamon tree today, and embrace the enchanting world of cinnamon!
