Lisa Atemoya Tree (Annona atemoya)

Overview: The Lisa Atemoya Tree is a remarkable hybrid fruit tree, meticulously bred in Florida by the renowned Annonaceae expert, Mr. Har Mahdeem. This exceptional variety is a cross between the ‘Libby’ cherimoya and the ‘Red sugar’ sugar apple, resulting in a tree that produces stunning pink-hued fruits with a delectable taste.

Growth Rate and Final Height: The Lisa Atemoya Tree is a vigorous grower, reaching a mature height of 20-30 feet (6-9 meters). With proper care and annual pruning, this tree can thrive and produce abundant fruit. It is well-suited for tropical and subtropical climates, making it an excellent choice for gardens in Florida, Texas, and California.

Taste and Texture: The fruit of the Lisa Atemoya Tree is truly a delight for the senses. Its creamy, custard-like flesh is smooth and white, offering a sweet and luscious flavor that combines the essence of summer berries with hints of banana and pineapple. The fruit’s unique pink exterior and minimal seed count make it a favorite among fruit enthusiasts.

Growing Conditions: To ensure optimal growth, the Lisa Atemoya Tree requires temperatures between 70-90°F. It thrives in well-drained soil and benefits from regular watering and fertilization. Pruning the tree annually helps maintain its shape and encourages better fruit production.

Harvesting: The Lisa Atemoya typically ripens between late summer and early fall. You can identify ripe fruit by its slightly soft texture and strong, sweet berry aroma. Harvesting should be done carefully to avoid damaging the delicate skin. Handpicking or using a fruit picker are both effective methods.

Unique Qualities: The Lisa Atemoya Tree stands out for its unique appearance and exceptional flavor. Its beautiful pink fruits and superior taste make it a prized addition to any garden. With proper care, you can enjoy the sweet, custard-like fruit from your own tree in just a few years.

Why Grow Lisa Atemoya? If you’re looking for a fruit tree that offers both aesthetic appeal and delicious fruit, the Lisa Atemoya Tree is an excellent choice. Its unique characteristics and adaptability to various climates make it a valuable addition to any home garden or orchard.
