Madame Francis Mango Tree
Discover the tropical delight of the Madame Francis Mango Tree, a cherished gem from Haiti.
Growth Rate & Size: The Madame Francis Mango Tree is known for its vigorous and spreading growth habit. With proper care and annual pruning, this tree can be maintained at a manageable height of 10 to 20 feet, making it an excellent choice for medium to large yards. Its dense and open canopy provides a lush, tropical feel to any landscape.
Taste & Flavor Profile: Indulge in the classic mango flavor of Madame Francis Mangos. These medium to large-sized fruits, weighing between 1 to 2 pounds, offer a rich, sweet, and robust taste with subtle hints of resinous spices and a slight tang. The juicy orange flesh has a somewhat fibrous texture, adding to its unique character. While the fiber content may be noticeable, the delightful aroma and flavor make it a worthwhile treat for mango enthusiasts.
Fruit Production: Madame Francis Mangos are known for their consistent and abundant fruit production. With minimal cold stimulus required for blooming, you can expect a good to heavy yield of delicious mangos from June to July. The fruits are typically free from imperfections and diseases, ensuring a bountiful harvest.
Planting & Care: To ensure the best growth and fruit production, plant your Madame Francis Mango Tree in a coastal area with good airflow. This variety is susceptible to Anthracnose, so it’s best to avoid highly humid regions. With proper care, your tree will thrive and provide you with years of delicious mangos.
Additional Information: Madame Francis Mangos produce polyembryonic seeds, meaning you can grow another Madame Francis Mango Tree from a seed. This mid-season mango is perfectly ripe when it transitions to a vibrant golden yellow color with minimal green at the base. Harvest your mangos when they emit a delightful mango aroma and show signs of yellow color break.
