Moro Blood Orange – Intense Color, Complex Flavor, and Garden Drama

The Moro Blood Orange Tree is the boldest of the blood oranges, producing deep crimson to nearly purple flesh with a sweet-tart flavor and subtle berry undertones. A true standout in any citrus collection, this variety offers both eye-catching fruit and rich, complex taste that sets it apart from standard oranges.

Why Grow Moro Blood Orange?

  • Flavor: Bright and tangy with hints of raspberry, cherry, and spice

  • Flesh: Striking red to deep purple — color deepens with cool nights

  • Fruit: Medium-sized, smooth orange skin with a slight blush

  • Tree Size: Vigorous grower reaching 12–15 ft, or larger if unpruned

  • Harvest Season: Ripens January through March

  • Self-Fertile: One tree produces on its own, but fruit set improves with a pollinator

  • Zones: Ideal for USDA zones 9–11

Bonus Appeal

With high anthocyanin content, Moro is one of the most antioxidant-rich citrus fruits available — and a favorite for gourmet recipes, cocktails, fresh juicing, or simply slicing for a dramatic citrus platter.

If you’re ready to grow something truly unique, the Moro Blood Orange Tree delivers bold flavor, showstopping color, and premium citrus performance — a citrus tree that never goes unnoticed.

Winter Shipping Advisory
Cold Weather Alert: Tropical trees are highly sensitive to cold temperatures. During colder months, our greenhouses maintain warm, optimal conditions for growth, which makes plants more vulnerable to cold damage during shipping.
Recommendations: If temperatures along the shipping route are below 40°F, we recommend holding your order until it’s safe to ship. We will notify you if a delay is necessary.
No Freeze Warranty: We do not guarantee plants shipped during freezing conditions. Shipping in cold weather is at the buyer’s discretion and risk.
Shipping Schedule
Local (In-State) Shipments: Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend. Most locations within the state receive deliveries in 1 to 2 days.
Out-of-State Shipments: Orders ship primarily on Monday and Tuesday to avoid weekend delays.
