Orange Crush Jackfruit – Vibrant Color and Firm Texture

The Orange Crush Jackfruit is a striking variety known for its vibrant dark orange flesh and extra crunchy texture. With a balanced growth habit, it’s perfect for home gardens, offering a beautiful blend of flavor, color, and ease of maintenance.

Tree Characteristics:

  • Size & Growth: The Orange Crush Jackfruit has a medium growth rate and can be maintained at a manageable size of 10 feet by 10 feet, making it ideal for smaller spaces or those seeking a manageable jackfruit tree.
  • Temperature Tolerance: Grows well in USDA Zones 9B-11, where it enjoys full sun and warm, tropical conditions. Regular watering is essential for optimal fruit production.
  • Production Capability: Begins producing fruit within 3-4 years and offers consistent yields once established.

Fruit Characteristics:

  • Fruit Size: The fruits are medium-sized, typically weighing around 20 pounds. The outer skin is clean and green, giving way to the treasure inside.
  • Flesh Quality: The interior boasts large, edible bulbs of deep orange flesh that are sweet, aromatic, and banana-flavored. The flesh is extra crunchy, making it perfect for fresh eating or use in salads and desserts.
  • Seed & Latex: The edible bulbs enclose a smooth seed, and the fruit has low latex, making it easier to handle and clean compared to other varieties.
  • Harvest Time: The tree typically bears fruit in mid-to-late summer, with a consistent ripening season.

Care Tips:

Orange Crush thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Regular pruning helps keep the tree at a manageable size. Consistent watering is important, as the tree is not drought-tolerant, and proper care will ensure healthy, flavorful fruits year after year.
