Allspice Tree – Fragrant and Versatile
The Allspice Tree (Pimenta dioica) is a tropical evergreen known for its aromatic leaves and berries, which are commonly used in cooking as a spice. It is both a practical and ornamental tree, offering a lush, fragrant addition to any landscape.
Tree Characteristics:
• Size & Growth: Typically grows up to 25-40 feet tall but can be maintained at 12-15 feet in home gardens with pruning.
• Planting Zone: USDA Zones 9-11.
• Container Suitability: Can be grown in large containers for a more compact form.
• Flowers: Small, white, and aromatic, blooming in clusters.
• Fruit: The dried berries (allspice) are used in various spice blends.
Use: Allspice berries are dried and ground to create a versatile spice used in Caribbean and Latin cuisine. The leaves are also fragrant and can be used in teas or as a flavoring agent in cooking.
Standout Feature: Its fragrant berries and leaves, as well as its use as a culinary spice, make it highly valuable. Its evergreen foliage makes it an attractive landscape tree.
Care Tips: Plant in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Pruning can help maintain a smaller, more manageable tree.

Winter Shipping Advisory
Cold Weather Alert: Tropical trees are highly sensitive to cold temperatures. During colder months, our greenhouses maintain warm, optimal conditions for growth, which makes plants more vulnerable to cold damage during shipping.
Recommendations: If temperatures along the shipping route are below 40°F, we recommend holding your order until it’s safe to ship. We will notify you if a delay is necessary.
No Freeze Warranty: We do not guarantee plants shipped during freezing conditions. Shipping in cold weather is at the buyer’s discretion and risk.
Shipping Schedule
Local (In-State) Shipments: Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend. Most locations within the state receive deliveries in 1 to 2 days.
Out-of-State Shipments: Orders ship primarily on Monday and Tuesday to avoid weekend delays.
